Rick Edwards
Rick Edwards embarked on his professional journey in the standup comedy scene following his graduation from Cambridge University, where he earned a degree in Natural Sciences. Currently, he has established himself as a multifaceted journalist, presenter, and screenwriter.
With a strong passion for history and a love for outdoor swimming, Rick has explored various wild swimming locations throughout the UK. He is best known as the host of the popular BBC1 daytime quiz show !mpossible, which began filming its fourth series in 2018. His extensive experience includes presenting roles on shows such as ITV2’s comedy roast Safeword, BBC Three’s live current affairs debate program Free Speech, and Channel 4’s Paralympic Breakfast Show.
In collaboration with Dr. Michael Brooks, Rick co-hosts the podcast Science(ish), which examines the scientific concepts presented in popular films. The podcast gained significant traction, leading to a book deal with Atlantic. Their book, titled Science(ish): The Peculiar Science Behind The Movies, was released in October 2017 and quickly rose to prominence, securing the top spot in the Amazon charts for Physics, Cosmology, and Humorous Essays while reaching 21st overall. The podcast itself has also enjoyed success, reaching the top of the iTunes Science & Medicine chart.
