Wayne Henley
Elmer Wayne Henley Jr. (born May 9, 1956) is a convicted American serial killer currently serving time within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. In 1974, Henley was found guilty for his involvement in a horrific series of crimes known as the Houston Mass Murders, where at least 28 teenage boys and young men were abducted, tortured, and murdered by Dean Corll between 1970 and 1973.
As a teenager, Henley, along with his accomplice David Owen Brooks, played a significant role in luring many victims to Corll’s residence, where they faced unspeakable horrors. The turning point in Henley’s life occurred on August 8, 1973, when, at just 17 years of age, he fatally shot Corll, effectively bringing an end to the sadistic spree.
Henley's actions not only led to his arrest but also shed light on the chilling nature of the crimes committed during those years, contributing to a broader understanding of serial offenses. His case remains a significant chapter in the annals of criminal history, reflecting on the complexities of youth, manipulation, and the tragic consequences of violence. Today, Henley continues to serve his sentence, and his story serves as a grim reminder of the darker aspects of human nature.
