Kurt Steven Angle is a distinguished American retired professional wrestler and an accomplished Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling. With a remarkable career spanning WWE and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), he has left an indelible mark on the wrestling world.

Angle's wrestling journey began at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, where he clinched the title of NCAA Division I Wrestling Champion twice in the heavyweight category. His prowess was further showcased when he secured a gold medal at the 1995 World Wrestling Championships, followed by an extraordinary achievement at the 1996 Summer Olympics, where he triumphed despite competing with a broken neck. Angle's unique accomplishment of completing an amateur Grand Slam—covering Junior Nationals, NCAA, World Championships, and the Olympics—sets him apart in wrestling history. In 2006, USA Wrestling recognized him as the greatest shoot wrestler ever and one of the top 15 college wrestlers of all time, culminating in his induction into the International Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.

Making his professional wrestling debut in 1996, Angle signed with WWE in 1999 and quickly showcased his talent, culminating in a rookie year that many consider unparalleled. He achieved four WWE Championships, a WCW Championship, and a World Heavyweight Championship, earning him Hall of Fame status in 2017.
