Sofiane Zermani
Sofiane Zermani, widely recognized as Fianso, was born on July 21, 1986, in Saint-Denis, a suburb of Paris, France, to Algerian parents. He spent his early years in Stains before relocating to Le Blanc-Mesnil at the age of thirteen.
Sofiane began his musical journey by releasing his debut album, Blacklist, in 2011, followed by its sequel in 2013. His innovative approach to promoting other emerging talent was showcased in 2016 through his video series #JeSuisPasséChezSo, which gained significant traction. His career took a pivotal turn when he signed with Capitol Records in November 2016.
In January 2017, he dropped the single "Ma cité a craqué," featuring Bakyl, leading to his album, also titled #JeSuisPasséChezSo, which soared to #2 on the SNEP French Albums Chart and was certified Platinum by May of the same year, signifying over 100,000 sales.
Sofiane's subsequent album, Bandit saleté, released in May 2017, also achieved Platinum status. Notably, the music video for "Toka" stirred controversy when he filmed it on the A3 autoroute without permission, resulting in a €1,500 fine and a suspended four-month jail sentence in February 2018. Sofiane expressed regret for the incident, attributing it to a moment of poor judgment. His bold creativity continues to resonate within the French rap scene.
