Amanda Billing

Amanda Billing, born on April 12, 1976, in New Zealand, is a talented actress renowned for her portrayal of Doctor Sarah Potts on the popular New Zealand soap opera, Shortland Street.

Hailing from Masterton, Amanda pursued her higher education in Christchurch, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Geography from the University of Canterbury. Following her graduation, she trained at the Christchurch College of Education and became a high school teacher, sharing her passion for learning with students.

Throughout her teaching career, Amanda maintained her love for the performing arts, participating in various amateur stage productions, including notable works such as Cloud Nine and The Country Wife. Her teaching journey has taken her to several schools in Auckland, where she has taught subjects like Geography, English, and Social Studies, with her most recent position being at Rangitoto College.
