Padmini Kolhapure
Padmini Kolhapure is a distinguished Indian actress, singer, and producer, celebrated for her impactful roles in Hindi and Marathi films. With a remarkable career that has spanned over four decades and includes more than 100 films, she rose to prominence in the 1980s, becoming one of the era's leading actresses. Her talent has been recognized with numerous awards, including three Filmfare Awards. As of 2024, she holds the position of Senior Vice President at the Cine and TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA).
Kolhapure's cinematic journey began at the tender age of seven when she first appeared on screen. Transitioning to lead roles by the age of 17, she garnered attention with her performances in early films like Zindagi (1976) and Dream Girl (1977). Her breakout role came in 1978 with Satyam Shivam Sundaram, where she portrayed young Roopa. Born into a musical Marathi-Konkani family, she is the daughter of renowned musician Pandharinath Kolhapure, with legendary singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle as her great-aunts.
Her accolades include winning her first Filmfare Award at just 13 for Insaaf Ka Tarazu (1980) and later receiving Best Actress honors for Ahista Ahista (1981) and Prem Rog (1982).
