Roy Drusky

Roy Frank Drusky, Jr. (June 22, 1930 – September 23, 2004) was a prominent figure in American country music, making his mark as a singer, songwriter, producer, actor, and disc jockey during the 1960s and early 1970s. Renowned for his deep baritone voice, Drusky was instrumental in popularizing the Nashville sound, blending traditional country elements with contemporary influences.

A significant milestone in his career was his recording of "Jody and the Kid," a song penned by the acclaimed Kris Kristofferson, making Drusky the first artist to bring one of Kristofferson's works to life. Among his numerous hits, the standout single "Yes Mr. Peters," a collaboration with Priscilla Mitchell, reached the pinnacle of the charts, securing the No. 1 position.
