Andrée Micheline Ghislaine Tainsy (April 26, 1911 – December 19, 2004) was a distinguished Belgian actress whose extensive career spanned several decades. Born in Etterbeek, Belgium, Tainsy pursued her passion for acting at the Brussels Conservatory during the early 1930s. She made her theatrical debut with the Georges Pitoëff company in 1937, starring in "Les Voyageurs Sans Bagage." Although she was poised to enter film shortly after, the onset of World War II forced her to flee to South America, where she connected with fellow artists and made her on-screen debut in Chile.

Tainsy’s film career officially commenced in 1945 with Jacques Remy’s "Le Moulin des Andes," known in Chile as "La Fruta Mordida." Upon returning to France after the war, she continued to thrive in the theater, featuring in productions such as "Les Amants de Noël" and "Joyeux Chagrins." Over her lifetime, Tainsy appeared in more than 80 film and television projects, collaborating with renowned figures like Philippe Noiret, Charlotte Rampling, and directors such as François Ozon and Claude Chabrol.

Remarkably, Tainsy remained active in her craft until her final days, making an appearance in Arnaud Desplechin's "Rois et Reine" just three days before her passing. Tragically, she suffered a heart attack following a theater presentation on December 19, 2004, and was laid to rest in Paris's Père-Lachaise Cemetery.
