Ruby Lin
Ruby Lin, known in Mandarin as Lin Xin Ru (林心如), is a prominent Taiwanese actress, singer, and producer born on January 27, 1976, in Taipei. Her English name reflects her mother's fondness for the gem, symbolizing beauty and elegance. Ruby began her career in the entertainment industry with a television commercial, marking her first experience in front of the camera in 1995. She quickly realized her passion for acting and made a significant breakthrough in 1997 with her leading role in the beloved TV series, "Princess Pearl," along with its sequel, "Princess Pearl II." This series catapulted her to fame.
In 1999, following the success of "Princess Pearl," Ruby ventured into music, releasing her debut EP, which showcased her vocal talents. She has since portrayed a wide array of characters, including the spirited Jian Ning princess in "Duke of Mount Deer" (2000), the ruthless assassin Cai Yue in "Flying Daggers" (2003), the kind-hearted Man Zhen in "Half Life Fate" (2003), the wise queen in "Schemes of a Beauty" (2010), and the adventurous Sun Shangxiang in "Three Kingdoms" (2010).
