Gerald Robert Waddell
Gerald Robert Waddell, a "third culture kid" raised in São Paulo, Brazil, discovered his passion for filmmaking at the tender age of 12 when he crafted his first movie with a DV camera and a VCR. This early creative spark ignited a lifelong dedication to the art of storytelling. He pursued a degree in History at the University of Chicago, where he also ventured into journalism, marketing, and university communications, all while penning speculative short fiction.
In his role as Senior Producer for UChicago Creative, Gerald’s innovative multimedia projects garnered recognition, earning CASE Circle of Excellence Awards in both 2013 and 2015. His commitment to the craft deepened further during his tenure as a Producing Fellow at the American Film Institute Conservatory, where he produced eight short films and developed a pilot and a feature-length screenplay.
Gerald’s work is characterized by his desire to engage and captivate audiences, utilizing a diverse array of cinematic techniques. With a career marked by creativity and a passion for storytelling, he continues to push the boundaries of film to surprise and entertain viewers.
