Alannah Olivia is a talented writer and director hailing from Cyprus and Egypt, with a passion for telling diverse stories that represent underrepresented voices. Raised in North London’s vibrant Cypriot community, she found her creative outlet in performance after being expelled from school, channeling her energy into the arts.
One of her notable achievements includes developing a teaser for her original television series, **OLIVES**, which garnered interest from BBC Drama and is currently in development. Alannah is also crafting two episodes for a horror series in collaboration with The Forge for Channel 4 Drama. Additionally, she is working on an action/adventure drama titled **SAVAGE** with BBC Drama and Eleven Films.
Currently, Alannah is penning an episode of **SWEETPEA** for Sky and was recently part of the writers' room for the BBC series **Boarders** Season Two. Her previous credits also include the writers' room for **Delicious** (Sky) and **Flack**, featuring Anna Paquin.
Her short film **Taarof: A Verbal Dance**, which she both wrote and directed, is showcased on the BFI website as part of a curated season by Tape Collective titled "But Where Are You Really From?" that delves into mixed heritage identity. This film will also be screened at BFI Southbank this summer.
Furthermore, Alannah's debut feature film, **I DON’T EAT MEAT!**, developed through the Creative England iFeatures scheme, is currently advancing with support from the BFI and Film4.
