Irfan Pathan

Irfan Pathan is a distinguished former Indian cricketer and actor, celebrated for his contributions to the sport. As a talented bowling all-rounder, he played a pivotal role in the Indian cricket team that clinched the inaugural ICC Twenty20 World Cup in 2007 and later contributed to the team's victory in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.

Pathan's cricketing journey began as a fast-medium swing and seam bowler, making his mark on the national team shortly after his 19th birthday. His early performances drew comparisons to the legendary Pakistani bowler Wasim Akram, particularly due to his exceptional swing capabilities. A significant highlight of his career occurred in early 2006 when he became the first bowler in Test history to achieve a hat-trick in the very first over of a match against Pakistan in Karachi.

Despite a promising start, Pathan faced challenges after 2006, as he struggled with a decline in pace and swing, leading to a reduced wicket-taking ability. While his batting remained effective, he was not considered a specialist batsman, resulting in his exclusion from both Test and ODI formats by the end of that year.
