Mickey Charles Mantle (October 20, 1931 – August 13, 1995), affectionately known as "the Mick" and "the Commerce Comet," was an iconic American baseball player who spent his entire Major League Baseball (MLB) career with the New York Yankees from 1951 to 1968. Renowned for his extraordinary talent as a center fielder, Mantle is often celebrated as one of the greatest players and sluggers in the history of the sport. He earned the American League Most Valuable Player award three times and was enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974.

Mantle's baseball journey began under the guidance of his father, who instilled in him the skills of switch-hitting from an early age.
