Regina Carrol
Regina Carrol, born Regina Gelfan on May 2, 1943, in Boston, Massachusetts, was a dynamic dancer, singer, and actress whose career flourished in the realm of cult cinema, particularly through her collaborations with her husband, filmmaker Al Adamson. Displaying her talent from a young age, Carrol began auditioning for theatrical productions at just five years old, eventually gracing the stage in acclaimed shows like "West Side Story," "The Children's Hour," "Wish You Were Here," and "Daddy Long Legs."
Following the death of her mother when she was 15, Carrol pursued a career in entertainment, performing as a dancer in Las Vegas and touring Europe with her nightclub act. She also hosted "The Regina Carrol Show," a TV interview series, and contributed an entertainment column to "The Las Vegas Panorama."
Her film career was launched by actor Steve Cochran, leading to her debut as a dancer in "The Beat Generation." She made notable appearances in various TV series, including "The Dinah Shore Show" and "Route 66." Carrol gained cult status for her memorable role as the unpredictable biker mama Gina in "Satan's Sadists" (1969) and shone in films like "Blazing Stewardesses" (1975) and "Black Heat" (1976), where she showcased her singing talent.
Regina Carrol's vibrant career came to an early end when she passed away from cancer at the age of 49 on November 4, 1992, leaving behind a legacy of unforgettable performances.
