Bill Corbett
Bill Corbett is best known for his contributions to the cult classic series MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000, where he not only served as a writer but also lent his voice to the beloved robot Crow (v.2.0) and portrayed various eccentric characters, including the clueless alien known as The Observer, or "Brain Guy."
In addition to his work in television, Corbett is a skilled screenwriter and playwright. He co-wrote the screenplay for STARSHIP DAVE with Rob Greenberg, which was adapted into the film MEET DAVE, starring Eddie Murphy, and released by 20th Century Fox. His theatrical works have garnered international acclaim, with plays such as THE BIG SLAM being staged at renowned venues across the U.S., including Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington, D.C., ACT in Seattle, and the Purple Rose Theater in Chelsea, Michigan, founded by actor Jeff Daniels. Other notable plays include HATE MAIL, THE STUFF OF DREAMS, and the humorous comic book holiday mashup SUPER-POWERED-REVENGE CHRISTMAS #1.
Corbett has contributed to National Public Radio's PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION and ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, and he co-created the animated web series POKER NIGHT for Icebox.com. An accomplished actor, he has performed with resident companies at the Guthrie Theater and the Berkshire Theater Festival. He has also taught playwriting and screenwriting at institutions such as Kenyon College and the Guthrie Theater.
A graduate of the Yale School of Drama with an MFA in playwriting and screenwriting, Corbett also holds a BA from Yale College. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he currently resides in Minneapolis with his wife Virginia, their two children, and an energetic Jack Russell Terrier.
