Erford Gage

Erford Holmes Gage, born on April 5, 1912, was an American actor whose career spanned both stage and film. Gage made a name for himself in the theater world before transitioning to the silver screen, where he became associated with RKO Pictures from 1942 to 1944. His performances during this period showcased his talent and contributed to the cinematic landscape of the early 1940s.

In addition to his acting career, Gage served his country during World War II as a staff sergeant in the 20th Infantry Regiment of the United States Army. Tragically, his life was cut short when he was killed in action during the Battle of Luzon on March 17, 1945, at the age of 32. Gage's dual legacy as a performer and a soldier remains significant, reflecting the impact of the war on the arts and the lives of those who served.
