Zach Hanner

Zach Hanner, born in June 1969 in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, is a multifaceted American actor, stage director, and writer whose passion for the performing arts has shaped his career. Growing up in the nearby town of Pilot Mountain, Zach's early exposure to theater ignited a lifelong commitment to the stage. At just 10 years old, he captured audiences as the lead in the Christmas opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors," followed by a memorable portrayal of Dill in "To Kill a Mockingbird," both performed at the Andy Griffith Playhouse, a nod to the legacy of Griffith himself.

In addition to acting, Hanner nurtured a deep appreciation for music, taking piano lessons, playing drums in his school band, and honing his vocal skills. His dedication to music culminated in his selection for the prestigious choral ensemble at the North Carolina Governor's School in 1985.

Despite a brief detour into basketball during his high school years, Zach ultimately returned to his true passion for theater while studying at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There, he immersed himself in the Performance Studies department, guided by influential professors Paul Ferguson and Randall Hill, and earned his Bachelor's degree.
