Peter Lai Bei-Dak

Peter Lai Bei-Dak (Chinese: 黎彼得) is a prominent lyricist and actor hailing from Hong Kong.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, he collaborated with Sam Hui to pen numerous lyrics for some of the earliest Cantopop songs. His songwriting prowess also extended to notable Hong Kong artists such as Anita Mui, Leslie Cheung, and Alan Tam, among others. Together with Jim Wong, Jimmy Lo, and Cheng Kwok Kong, Lai is recognized as part of the pioneering group of Cantopop lyricists who shaped the genre in Hong Kong.

In addition to his achievements in music, Lai has made contributions as a screenwriter and film producer, working with prominent production companies like Golden Harvest and TVB. His versatility in the entertainment industry has led him to take on acting roles in both films and television series since the 1980s, showcasing his talents beyond songwriting.
