Jack Fisk
Jack Fisk, born on December 19, 1945, is a distinguished American production designer and director, renowned for his imaginative contributions to cinema. Fisk has garnered acclaim primarily through his long-standing partnership with acclaimed filmmaker Terrence Malick, serving as the production designer for all of Malick's first eight films. His noteworthy collaborations include the iconic works Badlands (1973), Days of Heaven (1978), The Thin Red Line (1998), and The Tree of Life (2011), showcasing his ability to create visually stunning and thematically rich environments.
In addition to his work with Malick, Fisk's impressive portfolio features significant projects such as Phantom of the Paradise (1974), Carrie (1976), and David Lynch's Eraserhead (1977). He also lent his artistic vision to films like Heart Beat (1980), The Straight Story (1999), Mulholland Drive (2001), Water for Elephants (2011), and The Master (2012). Fisk's talent has earned him multiple Academy Award nominations for Best Production Design, including for There Will Be Blood (2007), The Revenant (2015), and Killers of the Flower Moon (2023).
