Neil Rowe
Neil Rowe is a prominent freelance visual effects artist and filmmaker, celebrated for his work on films such as *Robot World* and *Alien Outbreak*. His exceptional contributions to the visual effects industry have garnered him several accolades, including Best VFX at the Other Worlds Austin Film Festival, Best Feature at the Berlin Sci-Fi Film Festival in 2020, and an Honorable Mention for Best VFX at the Los Angeles Film Festival in 2021.
Born on January 23, 1980, in Exeter, Devon, England, Neil co-founded Rendered Pictures, a production and VFX company, with his wife Amanda Rowe in 2015. His professional journey began as a 3D animator and spanned over 13 years in the role of lead technical artist before he transitioned into filmmaking and visual effects.
Neil made his directorial debut in 2009 with the short film *Half Asleep*, which was showcased at the Virgin Media Shorts Film Festival. The establishment of Rendered Pictures marked a significant milestone in his career, with *Robot World* (initially titled *Reconnoiter*) being the company’s first feature. This film earned multiple accolades, including Best Feature at the Unreal Film Festival in Memphis and Best Director at the Hyperdrive Film Festival.
In February 2020, Neil released his second feature, *Alien Outbreak*, a sci-fi horror film co-created with his wife and brother Ian Rowe. This film also achieved critical acclaim, winning Best Feature at the Berlin Sci-Fi Festival and Best Director at the Caligari International Horror Film Festival in 2021. In addition to his own projects, Neil continues to lend his visual effects expertise to various filmmakers, further establishing his reputation in the industry.
