Şahan Gökbakar

Şahan Gökbakar was born and raised in the vibrant city of Ankara, Turkey, where he completed his primary and secondary education at the schools affiliated with the Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ). Following his graduation from high school in 1997, he pursued his passion for music and visual arts at Bilkent University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, ultimately graduating in 2002. His academic excellence was evident as he finished fourth in his class of 350 students.

Gökbakar’s early life was marked by personal tragedy; he lost his father in a tragic traffic accident at the tender age of eight, an experience that shaped his character and fueled his creative pursuits.

As a multi-talented artist, Şahan Gökbakar has made a significant mark in Turkish cinema and television. He is best known for his comedic roles and has gained widespread fame for his films, including the hugely successful "Recep İvedik" series, which has become a cultural phenomenon in Turkey.
