Rhys Nicholson
Rhys Nicholson is a prominent Australian comedian and actor, celebrated for his role as a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under, which he began in 2021.
Nicholson first gained national attention in 2011 when he appeared in the ABC documentary GayCrashers alongside fellow comedian Joel Creasey. The two embarked on a journey to the small town of Colac, where they performed a stand-up show, shedding light on the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community, particularly after Creasey experienced a homophobic attack during a previous visit.
Currently, Nicholson is a regular on The Weekly with Charlie Pickering, showcasing his sharp wit and comedic insights. In a landmark moment for marriage equality in Australia, he publicly married his partner, comedian Zoe Coombs Marr, during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2016. That same year, both Nicholson and Coombs Marr received nominations for the prestigious Barry Award for Best Show, with Coombs Marr taking home the accolade.
