Jorge Sanz was born on August 26, 1969, in Madrid, Spain. As the youngest of five siblings and the son of a military father, he was initially expected to pursue a career in the armed forces. However, at the age of nine, his mother took him to an audition, leading to his casting as Jane Birkin's son in the film *La Miel* (1979), directed by Pedro Masó. This marked the start of a successful journey as a child actor, with roles in popular films such as *Conan the Barbarian* (1982), where he starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Sanz's collaborations with renowned directors Fernando Trueba and Vicente Aranda established him as one of the most prominent young actors of his time. He appeared in notable films like *Mambrú se fue a la guerra*, directed by Fernando Fernán Gómez, and *El año de las luces*, also by Trueba, where he met actress Maribel Verdú for the first time.

Throughout his career, Sanz has received six nominations for the prestigious Goya Award, winning the accolade in 1989 for his performance in *Si te dicen que caí*. His talent has also earned him a revelation award at the San Sebastián Film Festival, in addition to two awards for best actor at the Nîmes Film Festival.
