Leung Sing Po, a distinguished figure in Cantonese Opera, embarked on his theatrical journey at the tender age of 17. Initially, he showcased his versatility by portraying both civil and martial characters. However, his unique, comical appearance soon led him to specialize in comedic roles, earning him the affectionate title of "The King of Clowns."

In 1950, Leung transitioned to the film industry, where he left an indelible mark by featuring in nearly 400 movies throughout his prolific career. Notable films include his leading performances in "Silly Wong" and "The Dunce," which solidified his status as a beloved entertainer.

From 1967 onwards, he became a prominent figure on television as the host and a key anchor of the popular variety show "Enjoy Yourself Tonight," further endearing him to audiences. His contributions to the arts were recognized through his leadership roles, as he served two terms as president of The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong and held the position of chairman for four years.

In 1976, Leung was honored as an MBE, marking him as the first local artist to receive this prestigious accolade. His remarkable career came to an end on February 14, 1981, but his legacy as a pioneering entertainer continues to resonate within the arts community.
