Izabella Miko
Izabella Miko, born Izabella Anna Mikolajczak on January 21, 1981, in Lodz, Poland, hails from a family of actors, Grazyna Dylag and Aleksander Mikolajczak. At the tender age of ten, she pursued her passion for dance by auditioning for the National Ballet School in Warsaw. By 14, she attended a summer ballet workshop at Biennale, where an American choreographer recognized her talent and offered her a scholarship to study in New York City.
On her fifteenth birthday, Izabella made the bold decision to leave her home in Poland for the vibrant streets of New York. She gained admission to the prestigious School of American Ballet (SAB) and resided in the SAB dorms for two and a half years. Unfortunately, a vertebral injury forced her to abandon her ballet dreams and return to Poland.
However, destiny had other plans. While her parents received casting calls, Izabella was offered a role in the television film "Lithuania You Are My Motherland," directed by Tadeusz Bystram, marking her entry into acting. She honed her craft at the Strasberg Institute and began modeling with Q Models, but soon realized the importance of having representation in Los Angeles. Relocating to LA, she navigated the city's public transport system to pursue auditions.
Her perseverance paid off when she landed an audition for Jerry Bruckheimer's "Coyote Ugly," which catalyzed a series of film roles. Izabella Miko continues to thrive in both Los Angeles and New York, embodying an "all or nothing" philosophy in her career.
