Jeramie Rain, born Susan Davis on August 23, 1948, is a multifaceted American screenwriter, producer, philanthropist, and former actress. Her artistic journey began in Charleston, where she captivated audiences in various local theater productions before relocating to New York City in the early 1970s. Rain transitioned to the big screen with her debut in the crime thriller The Abductors (1972). She gained significant recognition for her performance as Sadie in Wes Craven's notorious horror film, The Last House on the Left (1972), and portrayed Willie Mae in the comedy Preacherman Meets Widderwoman (1973).

In addition to her film work, Rain had a notable presence on television, playing Nurse Samantha Tolliver on the soap opera The Doctors from 1972 to 1977. She also made guest appearances on several other soap operas, including General Hospital, and showcased her talent in off-Broadway productions such as 22 Years and The Fan Club. Rain stepped away from acting in the mid-1970s to pursue writing and producing roles at NBC and CBS.

At 28, Rain faced a personal challenge when she was diagnosed with systemic lupus.
