John Alexander McGeoch (25 August 1955 – 4 March 2004) was a celebrated Scottish musician and songwriter, renowned for his innovative guitar work. He rose to prominence in the late 1970s and early 1980s as the guitarist for notable rock bands, including Magazine from 1977 to 1980 and Siouxsie and the Banshees from 1980 to 1982.

McGeoch’s distinct guitar style, which featured unique arpeggios, string harmonics, and an adventurous use of effects like flanger, set him apart as one of the most influential guitarists of his time. His contribution to the Siouxsie and the Banshees track "Spellbound" earned him a spot in Mojo’s "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" in 1996, highlighting the lasting impact of his musical innovations.
