Kim Krizan
Kim Krizan is an accomplished American writer renowned for her contributions to the film industry, particularly for her roles in crafting the screenplays for *Before Sunrise* (1995) and *Before Sunset* (2004). Her talent earned her nominations for both an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and a Writers Guild Award. Additionally, she appeared in Richard Linklater's films *Slacker* (1991) and *Waking Life* (2001). Krizan is also recognized for her portrayal of a high school teacher in *Dazed and Confused* (1993), where she delivers a memorable critique of the 1976 Bicentennial, highlighting its celebration of "a bunch of slave-owning, aristocratic white males who didn't want to pay their taxes."
In 2007, she was appointed as the spokesperson for Final Draft, a popular screenwriting software.
Beginning in 2008, Kim expanded her creative endeavors into the realm of comic books and graphic novels. She penned the "2061" comic series featured in *Zombie Tales* #1, 9, and 11, published by BOOM! Studios, and these were later compiled into a graphic novel titled Zombie Tales 2061 in mid-2009. Her involvement in the comic industry led to her participation in a panel discussion at the 2009 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books alongside notable figures in the field.
In September 2010, she contributed a story to the *CBGB* comic miniseries and a collection of this series was released as a graphic novel in the fall of that year.
Currently residing in Los Angeles, Krizan continues to write and teach writing courses, including at UCLA. Recently, she was featured in a promotional segment for TVO's *Saturday Night At The Movies* in honor of the program's 40th anniversary.
