Challen Cates

Challen Michelle Cates, born on January 26, 1966, is a talented American actress and independent film producer, widely recognized for her role as Mrs. Knight in the popular Nickelodeon series, Big Time Rush. Since 2007, Cates has made her mark as an executive producer on two notable independent films: A Fare To Remember (1998) and The A-List (2001), where she also starred in leading roles, showcasing her dual talents in both production and performance. In 2003, she took on a significant role in the indie film They Would Love You In France, further enhancing her filmography.

Throughout the early 2000s, Cates showcased her versatility by appearing in various television series, including Cybill, Roseanne, Diagnosis: Murder, Monk, CSI: NY, and Criminal Minds, among others. In 2007, she added to her credentials with a role in the TV movie The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning.

Her portrayal of Mrs. Knight not only endeared her to audiences but also led to appearances in four Big Time Rush movies: Big Time Audition, Big Time Concert, Big Time Christmas, and Big Time Beach Party. While primarily known as "Momma Knight" during the series, the spin-off episode Big Time Moms revealed her first name as Jennifer, adding a personal touch to her beloved character.
