Owen Teale
Owen Teale, born on May 20, 1961, is a distinguished Welsh actor known for his diverse roles across television and film. He honed his craft at the Guildford School of Acting, marking his television debut in the 1984 production of The Mimosa Boys. Teale gained recognition in the late 1980s with appearances in series such as Knights of God and Great Expectations, followed by notable roles in Waterfront Beat and Boon. His portrayal of Will Scarlet in the 1991 TV movie Robin Hood further established his presence in the industry.
Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Teale showcased his versatility in various acclaimed series, including Dangerfield, Ballykissangel, and the popular drama Belonging. He also starred in Spooks and Murphy's Law, earning praise for his performances. In 2005, he took on a significant role in Marian, Again, acting alongside Stephen Tompkinson and Samantha Beckinsale.
Teale's film career began with War Requiem in 1989, followed by a memorable role as Lophakin in the 1999 adaptation of The Cherry Orchard. He also portrayed the Nazi judge Roland Freisler in the HBO film Conspiracy and appeared in the acclaimed series Torchwood. His involvement in the iconic Doctor Who franchise began in 1985 and continued with guest roles in subsequent years. Teale is perhaps best known to modern audiences for his role as Ser Alliser Thorne in HBO's Game of Thrones.
