Winters' artistic journey began after graduating from Redford High School in Detroit, when he ventured to California to attend San Diego City College and later the University of California, San Diego. It was during this period that he developed a passion for acting, landing his first supporting role in the play "Little Murders," followed by a lead role as Axel in Woody Allen's "Don't Drink The Water." Eager to expand his craft, Winters sought inspiration beyond campus productions, immersing himself in the vibrant African American theater scene. Under the guidance of his mentor, Dr. Floyd Gaffney, he tackled significant roles such as Brick in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," Lou in "Spell #7," Prince in "Moon on a Rainbow Shawl," and Homer in "The Lilies of the Field." He also showcased his versatility in musicals like "Guys and Dolls" and "Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope," marking him as a dynamic force in the entertainment industry.
