Gregory Tremain Merrell
Gregory "Tremain" Merrell hails from Jackson, Mississippi, where his enthusiasm for acting and comedy blossomed from a young age. By the age of 16, he had already made his mark in the theatrical world by writing, directing, and starring in a drama titled "The Verse is Right," which was showcased at the National Baptist Youth Convention of America. His talent was further recognized with an invitation to return the following year with another original work, "Messy People."
Tremain pursued higher education at William Carey University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with a Minor in Theatre. During his college years, he also became a licensed minister, blending his faith with his love for comedy. After graduation, he began incorporating humor into his sermons, quickly gaining popularity among both youth and adults who sought out his engaging speaking style. This led him to pursue a career as a Christian comedian.
In addition to his theatrical endeavors, Tremain has showcased his comedic talents at various venues, including The GoTown Comedy Club, The CrossRhodes Christian Lounge, and The Punchline Comedy Club, as well as participating in events like the 1st Annual ITZ Christian Comedy Conference and the 2008 Heavy Hitter's Christian Comedy Tour. In 2011, he expanded his repertoire by providing color commentary for wrestling promotions and eventually became the Ring Announcer for Rite Hook Boxing Promotions after several years of announcing at the Mississippi Golden Gloves Tournament. Tremain aims to be celebrated for his distinctive humor and impeccable comedic timing.
