Owen Benjamin
Owen Benjamin Smith, born on May 24, 1980, is an American internet personality known for his affiliation with the alt-right, formerly recognized as a stand-up comedian and actor. He initially carved out a niche in the entertainment industry through roles in films such as "The House Bunny" and "All's Faire in Love," as well as starring in the television series "Sullivan & Son."
Transitioning to stand-up comedy, Benjamin gained popularity for his comedic talents. However, his career faced significant challenges following controversial remarks he made, including labeling an individual a "child molester" for supporting a transgender child and using a racial slur during performances. These incidents led to difficulties in securing comedy bookings and marked a shift in his public persona towards more extreme political views.
As he began to focus more on political commentary, Benjamin's online presence grew, but so did the backlash against him. In 2019, he was banned from several mainstream social media platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, due to violations related to hate speech. Consequently, he shifted to alternative technology platforms that offered more leniency regarding content moderation. As of now, Benjamin continues to cultivate his following within the alt-right community, leveraging these platforms to express his views.
