Hugo Arana (July 23, 1943 - October 11, 2020) was a prominent Argentine actor whose contributions spanned film, television, and theatre. Born in Monte Grande, he later moved with his family to Lomas de Zamora and then Lanús. Arana honed his craft under the guidance of esteemed acting instructors Marcello Lavalle and Augusto Fernández.

In the early stages of his career, he joined the theatre group "Errare Humanum Est" and made his mark in cinema with notable appearances in films such as *El Santo de la Espada* (1970) and *La tregua* (1974). His talent gained wider recognition in the 1980s, particularly through a memorable advertisement for Crespi wine. Following this, he starred in the beloved TV sitcom *Matrimonios y algo más*, directed by Hugo Moser. His performances as the comically mismatched characters "Groncho" in the skit "El Groncho y La Dama" and Huguito Araña, a flamboyant gay man, resonated deeply with audiences.
