Barbara Meier
Barbara Meier is a prominent German fashion model, celebrated for winning the second season of Germany's Next Topmodel. Hailing from the quaint Bavarian town of Amberg, she initially pursued an academic path, enrolling at Fachhochschule Regensburg to study mathematics and physics after completing her secondary education.
Her entry into the modeling world came unexpectedly when, during a shopping trip, a model scout invited her to audition for Germany's Next Topmodel. Out of an impressive pool of 16,421 applicants, Meier emerged as one of the final 15 contestants on the show. Throughout the competition, she showcased her talent and resilience, which led to her winning a key role alongside Heidi Klum in a national McDonald's commercial even before the finale.
Ultimately, she secured the title of "Germany's Next Topmodel," a victory that came with significant rewards, including a contract with the prestigious IMG Models in Paris, a feature on the August 2007 cover of Cosmopolitan Germany, and a campaign as the face of C&A.
Following her triumph, Meier graced the covers of numerous German publications, including Cosmopolitan, Icon, Style International, and Tango, while also making appearances in international magazines such as Vogue Taiwan and Madame Figaro. She became the face of various high-profile advertising campaigns for brands like Pantene, Borsalino, and Disneyland Resort Paris, solidifying her status in the fashion industry.
