Fran Drescher
Francine Joy Drescher, born on September 30, 1957, is a multifaceted American actress, comedian, writer, activist, and trade union leader. She is best recognized for her portrayal of Fran Fine in the beloved sitcom The Nanny, which aired from 1993 to 1999.
Drescher launched her acting career in 1977 with a minor role in Saturday Night Fever, followed by performances in films such as American Hot Wax (1978) and Wes Craven's horror film Stranger in Our House (1978). The 1980s saw her rise as a comedic talent, with notable roles in Gorp (1980), The Hollywood Knights (1980), Doctor Detroit (1983), This Is Spinal Tap (1984), and UHF (1989), alongside various guest appearances on television.
