Patsy Parsons

Patricia "Patsy" Parsons (June 9, 1931 – October 26, 2006) was a notable American character actress whose career spanned the late 1930s to the mid-1950s. Born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, she relocated to Hollywood at the tender age of five. By six, she had embarked on her acting journey, predominantly taking on child roles. One of her most memorable performances came in the iconic film "Yankee Doodle Dandy" (1942), featuring James Cagney. However, she is best remembered for portraying the malevolent space tyrant "Cleolanthe" on the 1954 television series "Rocky Jones, Space Ranger."

Despite her early success, Parsons, like many child stars, faced challenges in securing significant adult roles. She retired from acting shortly after her stint on "Rocky Jones," with her final television appearance in 1956 on "Science Fiction Theater," leaving the industry while still in her mid-20s.

Following her acting career, Parsons embraced a fulfilling life in California as the spouse of banker and activist Solon Soteras. Under the name Pat Soteras, she contributed to Pepperdine University, raised three children—Alexander, Nickoletta, and Anthony—and penned a weekly column for the Malibu Times. In her later years, she distinguished herself as the executive director of the Agoura/Oak Park/Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce, where her leadership led to an eightfold increase in membership. In honor of her contributions, the Patricia Soteras scholarship fund was established, ensuring her legacy would continue to support future generations.
