Socks Whitmore

Socks Whitmore (they/them/theirs) is a Los Angeles-based performer, storyteller, and creative who identifies as agender and gender non-conforming. Their artistic journey began as a vocalist, where they showcased their talent with the NAfME national honors choir and participated in the Honors Performance Series, gracing iconic venues like Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry, and the Sydney Opera House.

Socks has made significant contributions to the theater scene, originating roles in productions such as the immersive experience *Stardust*, the ballet operetta *Children Cannot Sleep*, and the innovative musical *The Bully Problem*. Their on-screen work includes appearances in *The Magical Christmas Tree*, *Blue Belt*, and *Baby Cat*, along with a robust portfolio of voice-over performances in popular audio dramas like *Georgie Romero Is Done For* and *The Sheridan Tapes*, as well as video games and numerous animated shorts.

In addition to their performances, Socks has a diverse body of work as a writer and musician, creating narratives for audio dramas, games, and print media. Their notable productions include *Marrow* (Original Vision Selection 2022), *We Are Here* (winner of NMI's New Voices Project 2019), and *Back to One: A Coming of Self Musical* (CalArts 50th Anniversary Alumnx Showcase 2023).

Beyond performing and writing, Socks is an advocate for neurodiversity, serving as an educator, director, and consultant. They co-founded the gender expansive vocal ensemble 8TPS and are a key player at Prismatic.one and Bolero Game Studio. Socks has been honored with Celebration Theatre’s 2024 Vibrant Voice award and holds a BFA in Performer-Composer from CalArts, with minors in Digital Arts and Creative Writing.
