Angelines Fernández
Angelines Fernández, born in Madrid in 1922, was a multifaceted Spanish actress whose life and career were deeply shaped by her experiences during and after the Spanish Civil War. A supporter of the Republican cause, she later aligned with the Spanish Maquis, which ultimately led her to flee Spain in 1947. After a brief stay in Cuba, she made her way to Mexico, where her artistic journey took off.
In the mid-1950s, Fernández began her film career, showcasing her talent in various roles. By the end of the decade, she transitioned to television, where she would become a household name. Her most iconic character was Doña Clotilde, affectionately known as "La Bruja del 71," on the beloved Mexican sitcom "El Chavo del Ocho." This role not only earned her widespread recognition but also solidified her status as a cultural icon in Latin America.
Throughout her career, Fernández's contributions to film and television were widely celebrated, and she became an integral part of the entertainment landscape in Mexico.
