Bob Bondurant

Bob Bondurant (April 27, 1933 – November 12, 2021) was a renowned American racing driver and a highly esteemed driving instructor, celebrated for his pivotal role in the realms of sports car racing and driver education. Hailing from Evanston, Illinois, Bondurant rose to prominence in the 1960s, competing in a variety of racing formats including sports cars, Formula 1, and endurance races. He achieved notable success while driving for prestigious teams such as Shelby American and Ferrari, with a standout victory in the GT category at the 1964 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he partnered with Dan Gurney in a Shelby Daytona Coupe.

Although Bondurant's racing career faced an abrupt halt in 1967 due to a severe accident, he redirected his passion and expertise to establish the Bob Bondurant School of High-Performance Driving in 1968.
