She made her debut on *The Muppet Show* during its third season, where she notably portrayed Gaffer the Backstage Cat. Mullen's extensive career includes serving as a voice director for Nelvana's *Dog City*, contributing as a designer for *The Muppet Movie*, and working as a performing assistant for the beloved character Yoda in *The Empire Strikes Back*. Additionally, she co-created the educational children's show *Between the Lions* and brought to life Mokey, a gentle and spiritual Fraggle, on *Fraggle Rock*. Beyond her work in entertainment, Mullen has actively engaged in humanitarian efforts. Together with her husband, former Muppet designer Michael K. Frith, she collaborated with the British charity "No Strings" to develop a poignant film for Afghan children. Titled *The Story of the Little Carpet Boy*, the film creatively addresses the dangers of land mines, using puppetry to convey its important message. The inspiration for this project came from Johnie McGlade, an emergency aid worker whose use of a puppet helped uplift the spirits of those affected by tragedy and conflict.
