Antonio Tarver
Antonio Deon Tarver, born on November 21, 1968, is a retired American professional boxer and boxing analyst, renowned for his remarkable career in the sport. Competing from 1997 to 2015, Tarver captured multiple world championships in the light heavyweight division, including prestigious titles from the WBA (Unified), WBC, IBF, and Ring magazine, alongside IBO championships in both light heavyweight and cruiserweight classes.
Tarver's amateur career was equally distinguished, highlighted by his participation in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, where he earned a bronze medal in the light heavyweight category. His Olympic journey came to an end against Kazakhstan's Vassiliy Jirov, a rematch of their earlier encounter at the 1995 World Championships, where Tarver had secured a gold medal. In that same year, he also won gold at the Pan American Games and the U.S. National Championships, making history as the sole boxer to achieve victories at these three significant events within a single year.
