Roger Hendricks Simon is a distinguished figure in American theater, recognized for his multifaceted contributions as a director, actor, and educator. A proud graduate and founding member of Robert Brustein's Yale Repertory Company, he has left an indelible mark on stages across the globe. Simon's directing prowess has graced prestigious venues including Joe Papp's New York Shakespeare Festival, London's Royal Court Theatre, Dublin's Abbey Theatre, and the Edinburgh Festival, among others.

He has helmed productions featuring celebrated playwrights such as Tennessee Williams, Sam Shepard, and Terrence McNally, and has directed renowned actors like John Lithgow, James Earl Jones, and Samuel L.
