Mark Read
Mark Read was born into a musically inclined family, with his father Keith being a member of the rock 'n' roll band The Wild Angels and his mother Pam showcasing her talents as a pianist, drummer, and singer-songwriter. His musical journey began at just two years old when he started playing the piano. By the age of 11, he was already performing alongside his family band on keyboards, captivating audiences in pubs, clubs, and hotels across the UK.
Read's early education took place at Auriol Junior School, followed by Epsom and Ewell High School. His passion for the performing arts led him to join the Songtime Theatre Arts group at 15, where he honed his acting skills and took on prominent roles in productions such as Guys and Dolls and Aladdin.
From ages 15 to 18, he traveled the globe performing with his parents' band on various P&O and Princess cruise ships, including a notable performance aboard the Canberra during the D-Day 50th Anniversary Fleet in 1994.
In 2009, Read showcased his vocal talent by performing A1's rendition of A-ha's classic "Take on Me" at Saint Edmund's Catholic School in Dover and The Astor of Hever Community School in Maidstone, Kent. His diverse experiences in music and theater have solidified his reputation as a versatile performer.
