Katherine Kelly Lang hails from a family steeped in the entertainment industry, being one of three siblings born to Olympic long-jump athlete Keith Wegeman and actress Judy Lang, with her grandfather being the acclaimed cinematographer Charles Lang, an Academy Award winner. Raised in Hollywood, California, she attended Beverly Hills High School, where her aspirations leaned more towards becoming a jockey or Olympic athlete rather than pursuing acting. Despite only taking a handful of drama classes, destiny intervened when she was cast as Patrick Swayze's sister in the film "Skatetown U.S.A." (1979), which marked the beginning of her acting journey.

Lang quickly secured an agent and appeared in popular television series including "Happy Days" (1974), "Magnum, P.I." (1980), and "The Last Precinct" (1986). A brief role in "The Young and the Restless" (1973) in 1981 paved the way for her film appearances in "The Night Stalker" (1986) and "Desperate Lives" (1982). She gained further recognition through her appearances in several Beach Boys music videos, embodying the quintessential California Girl.

In 1986, Lang landed the iconic role of Brooke Logan in the soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful" (1987), which catapulted her to global fame. Her character's tumultuous romance with Ridge Forrester, portrayed by Ronn Moss, became a central narrative for over 25 years, alongside a legendary rivalry with Stephanie Forrester, played by Susan Flannery. As of 2015, Lang remains one of the few original cast members still on the show. While she received her first Daytime Emmy nomination in 2013 as Best Supporting Actress and followed up with a Lead Actress nomination in 2014, her popularity also extends to modeling and commercial work in Europe and Australia. Outside of acting, Lang is passionate about sports and the outdoors, actively
