Tanya Tagaq
Tanya Tagaq, hailing from Nunavut, is a groundbreaking improvisational vocalist, avant-garde composer, and author who has made a significant impact on the cultural landscape. As a distinguished member of the Order of Canada, she has also garnered a Polaris Music Prize and multiple JUNO Awards, alongside several honorary doctorates, establishing herself as a transformative figure advocating for social, political, and environmental issues.
