Anaïs Croze

Anaïs Croze, born on August 20, 1976, in Grenoble, France, is an acclaimed singer known for her distinctive musical style and engaging performances. Her debut album, *The Cheap Show*, was recorded live in January 2004 and released in 2005, showcasing her unique blend of rock energy and minimalist artistry, where she captivated audiences using only her guitar and a loop pedal.

Raised in Marseille and educated in English at Aix-en-Provence, Anaïs began her musical journey as the lead singer and lyricist of the band Opossum from 1999 until its split in late 2002. During that time, the band performed around 200 gigs across France, Switzerland, and Germany, culminating in the release of their seven-track CD, *Excuse-moi, j'voulais te d'mander*. Following the band's disbandment, she embarked on a successful solo tour in 2003, bringing her witty and energetic compositions to life.

Anaïs is celebrated for her versatile vocal abilities, often paying homage to renowned Francophone artists and weaving humor into her performances. Her repertoire addresses themes of love, social issues, and personal struggles with a light-hearted touch, evident in tracks like "Elle sort qu'avec des blacks" and "La vie est dure."
