Richard Biggs

Richard James Biggs II (March 18, 1960 – May 22, 2004) was a prominent American actor celebrated for his contributions to both television and theater. Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, Biggs pursued his passion for acting by attending the University of Southern California, where he was awarded a scholarship to study theatre. After a brief stint teaching at a Los Angeles high school, he gained recognition for his role as Dr. Marcus Hunter on the iconic soap opera Days of Our Lives, which marked a significant milestone in his career.

In addition to his work on daytime television, Biggs is widely remembered for his portrayal of Dr. Stephen Franklin on the acclaimed science fiction series Babylon 5. His performances on these shows showcased his talent and versatility, earning him a loyal fan base and critical acclaim.

Throughout his life, Biggs faced personal challenges, including a diagnosis of hearing difficulties at the age of 13, which left him partially deaf in one ear and completely deaf in the other. Nevertheless, he used his platform to advocate for the deaf community, notably fundraising for the Aliso Academy, a private institution in Rancho Santa Margarita, California that supports children with hearing impairments.
