Phil Lester

Philip Michael "Phil" Lester, a prominent British YouTuber, vlogger, and radio host, is widely recognized for his engaging YouTube channel, “AmazingPhil.” From January 2013 to August 2014, he co-hosted the Sunday night entertainment show, "Dan and Phil," on BBC Radio 1 alongside his close collaborator, Dan Howell.

Born and raised in Rawtenstall, Lancashire, Lester pursued his education at the University of York, where he earned a degree in English Language and Linguistics. He furthered his studies in the Department of Theatre, Film and Television, culminating in a Master of Arts in Video Postproduction with a focus on Visual Effects. Since August 2011, Lester has shared a home with fellow YouTuber Dan Howell, and they relocated to London in July 2012, later building a house together.

A significant milestone in Lester's career occurred on March 26, 2015, when he and Howell announced their co-authored book, "The Amazing Book Is Not on Fire" (TABINOF), through a promotional trailer on his channel. Released in the UK on October 8, 2015, and globally on October 15, it quickly topped the General Hardbacks Sunday Times Bestsellers list and became a #1 New York Times Bestseller in the young adult hardcover category.

In conjunction with the book, Lester and Howell launched their theatrical show, "The Amazing Tour Is Not on Fire" (TATINOF), which toured the UK in late 2015 and later expanded to the US and Australia. The tour culminated in an announcement on June 24, 2016, revealing that it would be adapted into a YouTube Originals film, making them the first British YouTube creators to debut content on the YouTube Red platform. In November 2016, they also released a photobook titled "Dan and Phil Go Outside," showcasing candid photos and personal stories from their touring experiences.
