Ginette Reno
Ginette Reno, OC, CQ (born April 28, 1946), is a multi-talented French-Canadian singer, actress, composer, and author, affectionately known by her nickname "La Reno."
Originally named Ginette Reynault (with some variations noted as Raynault), she hails from Montreal, Quebec. Reno gained recognition for her performances in film, notably portraying Maria Barberini in the independent movie Mambo Italiano and playing the role of a mother in Léolo.
Her musical repertoire includes recordings in both English and French, with her most famous English-language hit being the 1971 track "Beautiful Second Hand Man." Among her diverse collection of music, she also released a French rendition of Lynsey de Paul's "Storm in a Teacup." Predominantly, her performances take place in her home province of Quebec, where she has built a loyal fan base.
